When in Cavite, Digman is the talk of the town. Upon stepping into the shop, you’ll be greeted by the sight of huge mounds of halo-halo ingredients like ube and leche flan displayed in a row. If that’s not enough to make you start drooling, the serving of their famous version of halo-halo definitely will: the tall glass is filled with a generous amount of gulaman, sweetened beans, kaong, and served with hefty spoonfuls of ube and leche flan on top.
3 Lucban, Quezon: Salud’s Halo-Halo
Aside from their longganisa and pancit habhab, Lucban is also famous for their halo-halo, thanks to Salud’s. This version is definitely a salutation to the favorite Filipino dessert-the ingredients are made fresh and in-house. The pinipig sprinkled on top of every glass adds an extra crunch. They also serve their halo-halo with suman or barquillos, which makes having desserts here such a unique experience!

4 Metro Manila: Aling Banang’s Halo-Halo

If you’re staying within the metro but tired of the usual fast food fare for your desserts, Aling Banang‘s could be your new go-to place. Aling Banang’s heirloom halo-halo recipe began in the 1930s and still continues to thrive until today. It’s easy to understand why: their concoction is made of fresh and sweet homemade ingredients down to their leche flan and ube ice cream. Their Halo-Halo Special (P55) is a must-try with its addition of corn flakes and grated cheese on top.

There’s no other town in the Philippines that probably loves their halo-halo as much as Esperanza does. If you’re the type who loves living life with a little spice, then this halo-halo might just be the right one for you. Ben’s Halo-Halo combines ice and fire with their Spicy Winter Halo-Halo (P95), a unique variant that features sliced red chili garnished on top of their creamy halo-halo ensemble. If you lean towards everything basic, they also offer the traditional halo-halo priced at P90.

After catching some waves, you can easily complete your summer experience by dining at Halo Halo de Iloko at La Union. This popular restaurant elevates the halo-halo experience to a whole new level because aside from using regular ingredients, they introduce additional texture by layering polvoron underneath all that creamy sweetness! Their halo-halo starts at P99, with their Pritong Halo-Halo (P150) ranking as their best-seller.

8 Cebu City: Melton’s Halo-Halo
The unbearable heat of summer sometimes just makes you want to melt. Thankfully, when you’re in Cebu, you have Melton’s Halo-Halo to help you freshen up and cool down.
Awarded with Best Halo-Halo of 2015 by Sun Star, Melton’s Halo-Halo has become famous with their take on the staple summer dessert by combining thinly shaved ice, slices of red banana, coconut, langka, ube, and topping it with two scoops of ice cream. The crushed peanuts in the mix also complement the creaminess of the dessert.

9 Davao City: Aling Foping’s Halo-Halo
When in Davao, get your dose of halo-halo at Aling Foping’s. They let you choose your six ingredients with their Halo-Halo Regular (P85) and word has it that you must always include their melt-in-your-mouth ube on your list. Their Durian Halo-Halo (P105) and Bibingka Halo-Halo (P150) is also one for the books.

10 Albay: DJC’s Halo-Halo
We Filipinos love cheese so perhaps, it goes without saying that it was only a matter of time before we started adding cheese to our desserts too. DJC Halo-Halo is among the first who pioneered this trend with their Original Supreme Halo-Halo (P85) made with crushed ice, ube, leche flan, corn, gulaman, saba and of course, cheese.
